Register of Merit

PROGRAM OUTLINE

Recognizes dogs that have had an significant impact on Bouviers in Canada. The program has titled offspring contributing points to their sire & dam, with the lifetime totals being calculated.

Purpose:

The purpose of this program is to recognize the Bouvier des Flandres & Breeder that have had an impact on Canadian Bouviers. The goal is to show breeders, owners and all interested persons as to which top producers that have influenced Canadian dogs. It is also to provide a source of information breeders can use to produce excellent dogs that strive to reach excellence as set out in our standard.

Outline:

Each dog earning an CKC title (as published in the CKC Dogs In Canada official pages) contributes assigned to each their sire, their dam & their breeder. Dogs, bitches meeting the outlined requirements will earn the designation of “Register (or Producer) of Merit” and thus enabling the labelling of the ROM behind its name.

Each year the ”Register of Merit”, compiling the top ranked sires, dams and breeder producing titles offspring.

Requirements for the Register of Merit:

For recognition in the Register of Merit, a dog must:
a) Accumulate at least 100 points from titles of his get; and
b) Have points from CKC titles awarded to at least five (5) individual get; and
c) Have at least fourth (4) get that are awarded the title of CKC Champion; and
d) Have at least 25% get that are award (ROM, Ch and/or CD)
For recognition in the Register of Merit, a bitch must:
a) Accumulate at least 50 points from titles of her get; and
b) Have points from CKC titles awarded to at least tree (3) individual get; and
c) Have at least two (2) get that are awarded the title of CKC Champion; and
d) Have at least 25% get that are award (ROM, Ch and/or CD)
For recognition in the Register of Merit, a breeder must:
a) Accumulate at least 25 points from titles (Ch and/or CD); and
b) Have at least fifteen (15) get that are awarded the title of CKC Champion.

Schedule of ROM Points for Titles Awarded to get:

A dog or bitch offspring contributes ROM points to both his/her sire and dam by earning CKC titles according to the following schedule:

ROM Progeny:

Progeny that achieve an ROM title themselves, contribute 10 points to both their sire and their dam.

Conditions:

a) The names will not be released until the Register of Merit has been published.

b) Periodic updates in the Newsletter will inform BdFCC members about new title holders.

Duties of the ROM Chair:

1. Compile ROM point totals from all get earning titles as listed in the CKC Awards magazine.

2. Provide a list of “new ROM title holders” and “lifetime ROM” for publication in the Newsletter and Websit.

3. Send letters and certificates to owners of dogs that qualify for the ROM title.
